What should I do if I'm having problems with SunRise updates?
The Windows operating system is constantly updated, adding new features and modules. Furthermore, the program doesn't know which OS version is running on the user's computer. This can sometimes cause problems with updating the latest SunRise release.
Below are the most likely problem scenarios and what to do if they occur.
WARNING! ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR EXISTING DATABASE TO A SEPARATE FILE AND FOLDER BEFORE UPDATE OR REINSTALLING SUNRISE. To do this, click the "Backup..." button or use the button from the main menu: Utilities -> Database.
Scenario (A)
(1) SunRise has indicated a new update is available. (2) You launched it from within SunRise. (3) The program downloaded the update installation file, closed SunRise, began the installation, and suddenly the message appeared saying, "This program is already installed on your computer... The new installation process was interrupted."
Solution for scenario (A)
1. Open Control Panel.
2. Open the Programs section.
3. Find SunRiseEn in the list of programs.
4. Uninstall SunRiseEn (Right-click and select Uninstall from the menu).
5. Open drive C. Open the folder along the path C: -> ICN Holding -> SunRiseEn -> SR_Update_Pref.
6. Find the SunRiseW.exe file and double-click it.
7. The update installation will begin. Follow the steps of the installer.
8. The program will do the rest automatically. Launch SunRise and work as usual, but with the updated version.
Scenario (B)
No method allows me to install the SunRise update.
Solution for Scenario (B)
1. Open the current version of SunRiseEn.
2. Back up your ENTIRE current database. For example, use the button from the main menu: Utilities -> Database.
3. Open Control Panel.
4. Open the Programs section.
5. Find SunRiseEn in the list of programs.
6. Uninstall SunRiseEn (Right-click and select Uninstall from the menu).
